Janet Moran

Janet has been doing painting restoration for Trefler’s for almost 30 years. She is a graduate of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. While studying at the school, Janet was the first student to receive a full semester of credits for a painting conservation apprenticeship at the school. Janet served as an apprentice with the Broderick Gallery, Boston, for five years. She has a long history of oil and acrylic painting conservation, including working on a full-length John Singer Sargent painting while working at the Broderick Gallery. Janet specializes in cleaning, relining and in-painting works of all sizes and genres. She understands how important it is for the work to be done carefully and respectfully so the original intent of the artist is preserved. Janet’s talents are multi-faceted and she is cross-trained in other disciplines including frame restoration and conservation. Outside of her extensive conservation work, Janet is also an accomplished landscape painter in her own right.

Janet is a current associate member of The American Institute of Conservation, with a specialty in paintings and objects.
